The Olympics have left town but the ragtag Knicks put on their own show last night. One night after getting blown out by one of the league's worst teams in Denver, the Knicks stood up to Karl Malone and the Jazz.

Quite literally, too. Clarence Weatherspoon, after believing Malone intentionally hit him in the mouth with the ball on a fake, challenged The Mailman to a fight late in the second quarter.

Then Weatherspoon delivered the crushing shot, sinking an 18-footer from the left baseline with 54.8 seconds left, putting the Knicks up 81-77 as they posted their first victory in Utah in 10 years with an 85-79 shocker.

"It's a tough place to get a win," Weatherspoon said. "All of us played hard tonight. Everybody played big."
