One of the key match ups to look for as the New Jersey Nets and Boston Celtics open there series at The Meadowlands today will be Antoine Walker against Kenyon Martin. Martin this season has found himself in trouble numerous times, his aggressiveness leading to many suspensions. In the playoffs, however, Martin seems to have left his problems back in the regular season and the Nets are reaping the rewards.
One ploy that the Celtics could enforce could be to try to frustrate Martin, yet him to react and possibly get him thrown out of the game. Walker says he doesn?t think that is necessary.
``Kenyon ain't tough, man,'' Walker said yesterday. ``Getting flagrant fouls don't make you tough, you know what I'm saying? Taking swipes at people don't make you tough. So we'll see. That's not our game. We try to play physical, but that's not our game, to get into that. ?
``Kenyon's a good player. We look forward to the challenge. But either way it's not going to work. I think he's smart enough, and obviously I think he wants to play in the playoffs where he's not going to get into a confrontation that could cost himself a game or could hurt his team. I think that was just something that just took place during the season.''
