One day after the Jazz announced the Timberwolves' 1999 first-round draft pick would play for their summer-league team, the Wolves signed up the Jazz's 1999 first-round draft pick for its own team.
Quincy Lewis, one of the Jazz's eight free agents, will play for Minnesota's entry in the Shaw Summer League, beginning this weekend in Boston. Lewis played college basketball at Minnesota, and may have a shot at a roster spot with the Wolves -- particularly if their own free-agent guard, William Avery, signs with another team. Avery, a 6-foot-2, third-year guard from Duke, will join the Jazz's entry in the Rocky Mountain Revue next week after playing for Miami in this week's Orlando Pro Summer League.
