Hitting the game-winning 3-pointer Tuesday night certainly didn't hurt William Avery's cause.
But midway through the Rocky Mountain Revue, free agents playing for the Jazz's summer-league team have done little else to help themselves catch the watchful eyes of a team that could have a roster spot open in the fall.
"All the free-agent guys have to be more consistent, with both perimeter shooting and overall court awareness," Jazz assistant coach Gordie Chiesa said after Avery's trey with 5.2 seconds to go lifted Utah over Toronto 82-81 at Salt Lake Community College.
