Bryon Russell was dancing to rap music as he walked out of the training room before the Washington Wizards' home opener last week. He pulled down his headphones long enough to talk about his new life after nine seasons with the Jazz, saying he's so happy and comfortable in Washington that he wishes he could have moved sooner, that he misses his teammates but is eager to face them next week and figures he can catch on quickly to a new offensive system.
He's also 7-for-25 from the field through three games.
Spoiled by the way Karl Malone and John Stockton came to town and never left, Jazz followers tend to turn against players -- Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley, specifically -- who leave via free agency.
If they feel the same way about Russell, who signed with the Wizards in September and took a few shots at Jazz management on the way out of town, they must be pleased with Russell's role in Washington's 1-2 start.
