When the Nets' two top assistants, Eddie Jordan and Ed Stefanski, interviewed with other teams last week, some Nets owners became concerned enough to reach out to them.

According to two Nets officials, the team's ownership will try to retain both Jordan and Stefanski.

Jordan, a Nets assistant coach, interviewed with the Philadelphia 76ers before the Nets left for San Antonio; Stefanski, the director of scouting, met with Portland Trail Blazers executives in San Antonio for their general manager position, which will be open soon.

The Washington Wizards are interested in both Jordan and Stefanski, but they are waiting to see what the former Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy decides about their head coaching vacancy.
