Denver vs. Cleveland has been a heck of a football rivalry. But when the cities have met in basketball, it seemed to be a good time to do laundry.
A lot of yawns, though, soon might turn to yells when Cleveland and Denver get together for NBA games. The Cavaliers will take LeBron James with the top pick in the June 26 draft and the Nuggets are likely to select Carmelo Anthony with the No. 3 pick.
"Every time we step on the court, I think the arena is going to get sold out," Anthony said during a media session Saturday at a downtown Chicago hotel. "Every time we play LeBron. Denver against Cleveland."
James, a guard who led St. Vincent-St. Mary High School of Akron, Ohio, to a state championship, and Anthony, a small forward who led Syracuse to the national title as a freshman, are the two most high- profile players in the draft. Both are 6-foot-8, and both just signed big endorsement deals with Nike.
