In search of speedy point guards to lead the fast break next season, the Nuggets may want to take a look at the San Antonio Spurs' Speedy Claxton. And if the Nuggets make contact, Claxton would listen.

"They've got some young talent there right now," said Claxton, an unrestricted free agent whose 13 points and four assists Sunday night helped the Spurs beat the New Jersey Nets 88-77 and win the NBA championship. "With their position in the draft now, they can get a very good player. With the money they've got in free agency, they can get some good people if they are willing to pay them."

Claxton was a solid backup point guard for Tony Parker in the NBA Finals, averaging 4.8 points (on 52.9 percent shooting) and 10.4 minutes entering Sunday's Game 6.

While the Nuggets are expected to target free agents Gilbert Arenas of the Golden State Warriors and Andre Miller of the Los Angeles Clippers as starters, they also are expected to look for a backup point guard.
