The Mavericks will get an early look at teen-age sensation LeBron James during a summer league in Boston.

The 18-year-old has agreed to take part in Cleveland's summer program after the Cavaliers make him the No. 1 pick in next week's NBA draft. The Cavaliers, like the Mavericks, will be sending a team to the Shaw Summer League.

The Mavericks will be at the July 14-20 event with a collection of free agents and, perhaps, their players selected in the upcoming draft. Antoine Rigaudeau is expected to be part of their team, unless he opts to retire from the NBA before then. They will play Cleveland on July 18. The 6-8, 240-pound James already has signed a $90-million endorsement contract with Nike.

The Mavericks also are sending a team to the Summer Pro League, which is played in Long Beach, Calif., and the Rocky Mountain Revue, which is in Salt Lake City. Undrafted rookies and unattached free agents will fill that squad.
