Having already secured the services of the NBA's top free agent, the Spurs will now spend the next two to four weeks trying to find him some help.

After Tim Duncan announced Monday he plans to sign a long-term contract with the Spurs, team officials will begin courting other free agents today. With close to $16 million in salary-cap room, the Spurs will be one of the biggest players in the free agent market.

Teams can negotiate with free agents today, but cannot sign them until July 16.

"I'm excited, but also a little nervous," Spurs general manager R.C. Buford said. "We have controlled what we can control, but a lot of the things that happen from now on are no longer our control."

New Jersey point guard Jason Kidd, Indiana forward Jermaine O'Neal and Los Angeles Clippers forward Elton Brand top the Spurs' list. Team officials likely will court all three until they gauge each player's interest in coming to San Antonio.
