Point guard Earl Boykins has had some of his best games in Denver. His father, Willie Williams, said that's one reason his son soon should sign with the Nuggets.
"He likes Denver a lot," Williams said. "For some reason, he just likes to play there."
Boykins' most memorable game in Denver was Nov. 29, 2002, at the Pepsi Center. In only his second game after signing with Golden State, the 5-foot-5 Boykins totaled 20 points and seven steals in 24 minutes as the Warriors overcame a 20-point second-half deficit to win 92-82.
Williams said Boykins expects to be in Denver within a few days to take his physical and, if all checks out, sign his contract. He will ink a five-year deal worth around $12 million.
