The Timberwolves announced another important addition to their team Monday, but he doesn't play power forward or point guard.
Ted Johnson was hired as director of communications. Johnson, who came to the Wolves and the Lynx from the public relations firm Weber Shandwick, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the communications, of media and community relations and will report to senior vice president Chris Wright.
"He will work on continuing to raise the image of the Timberwolves in our market," Wright said. "With his diverse background and experience, Ted will help us build our brand and work to win over our fans on a daily basis."
A native of Coon Rapids, Johnson is a Minnesota Duluth graduate. He served as deputy campaign manager for Hubert Humphrey III's gubernatorial campaign in 1998 and spent two years in the Attorney General's office.
