CLEVELAND (AP) Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dajuan Wagner was activated Tuesday after missing 53 games dating back to last March with knee injuries.
The Cavaliers also activated center DeSagana Diop. Both were expected to play Tuesday night against New York.
Wagner missed the final 20 games of his rookie season after surgery to have torn cartilage repaired in his knee. He reinjured the knee during training camp and had surgery Nov. 4.
Wagner averaged 13.4 points in 47 games last season and is expected to take some of the scoring load off rookie LeBron James.
Diop missed the last 16 games after knee surgery. In 16 games this season, he averaged 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
To make room for Wagner and Diop, the Cavaliers placed forward Ira Newble and center Bruno Sundov on the injured list.
Newble missed the last two games with a right quadriceps contusion. Sundov has right Achilles' tendinitis.
