Warriors forward Mike Dunleavy lost his starting spot to Mickael Pietrus on Monday.
If you're expecting to read about a tantrum in the locker room, or his verbal jabs at coach Mike Montgomery, don't hold your breath.
"I'm kind of excited about it," Dunleavy said before Monday's game against Denver. "I think it's going to be a good thing. I hope it will be able to last, get this thing going."
Montgomery said he likes the options having such a versatile player on the bench gives him. Dunleavy, who had been a starter in the past 149 games he had played, can fill both guard and both forward positions, and Montgomery said he's a smart enough player to transition easily.
"He's really one of our smartest, steadiest players," Montgomery said. "He can play three or four different positions so we can kind of plug him in where we need him. ... He's sort of underappreciated around here, I think. He really has the ability to do a lot of things."
