The first indication that Chris Duhon would not play Monday came during the team's morning shootaround. He was on the bench in street shoes and departed walking gingerly.

Duhon had suffered a deep bruise in his left thigh during the Bulls' practice Sunday at the Delta Center and it left him on the bench against the Jazz Monday night.

The second-year guard said he was hit hard by a teammate's knee while pursuing a loose ball. He thought he collided with Malik Allen, but wasn't certain.

"He got hit pretty good," coach Scott Skiles said. "Obviously, for Chris not to be able to play--he's a tough guy--he's hurt."
