Lamarcus Aldridge has been considered a top-3 lottery pick in this year's draft all season long, should he declare. That 'should he declare' part is still an unknown following the Longhorns' elimination in the Elite 8.
"I'm not going to get into that right now," said Aldridge, his eyes still red following an obviously emotional postgame team meeting. "This is not the time."
Aldridge averaged 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in three NCAA tournament wins for Texas, but Saturday was not the first time this season he struggled offensively. The 6-foot-10 center was held to five points in an 80-68 loss to Kansas in the Big 12 tournament title game, and his season low was two points in a win over Baylor on Jan. 21.
"It's very disappointing when you see yourself as a guy that's going to do it every night," Aldridge said. "I just tried to contribute with rebounds and blocked shots and other things."
