With their win tonight against Cleveland, the Washington Wizards clinched a spot in the 2006 NBA Playoffs.  After qualifying for the playoffs last season and advancing to the second round with a first round series win against the Chicago Bulls, Washington has now advanced to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 1986-87 and 1987-88 NBA seasons.

"We're thrilled to be back in the playoffs for the second consecutive season," said Wizards President Susan O'Malley.  "Mr Pollin and Ernie Grunfeld said the goal was to be a perennial playoff contender, and this accomplishment is a credit to their vision."
