Hornets' free agent coup Peja Stojakovic scored five points on 2-for-10 shooting in the Hornets' 109-105 loss to the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena.

In his first game since straining his left quadriceps in training camp, Stojakovic logged 24 minutes, primarily with the Hornets' first team.

"Did he make any shots tonight?" asked Hornets assistant coach Darrell Walker, who filled in for ill Coach Byron Scott. "It wasn't a good shooting night for Peja, but there won't be a lot of nights like 2-for-10."

"It felt good just being on the floor," said Stojakovic, a free agent this past offseason. "It's preseason, and I was glad I was able to play without any stiffness or soreness. I know my game is going to come. It's just a matter of me getting a rhythm and a balance."
