Boris Diaw has the option to sign an extension with Phoenix by Oct. 31 or play out the season and wait until the summer, when he?ll be a restricted free agent, and according to the East Valley Tribune the Suns are confident they can come to an agreement.

?I would think there?s a good chance to get something done,? said David Griffin, the Suns? vice president of basketball operations.

?It?s 50-50,? Diaw said of the chances he?ll sign in the next two weeks.

The risk for Diaw is that with the return of Amare Stoudemire, Diaw?s stats could well decrease.

But Diaw doesn?t necessarily see things this way.

?Good players make you better,? he says.

But he acknowledged, ?The bad thing (in not signing) is you can have a bad year. Then it would have been better to have signed.?
