Even though rookie guard Daniel Gibson was the Cleveland Cavaliers' best player offensively Thursday night in Game 1, it won't lead to a promotion.

Gibson came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points (including 2-for-3 on 3-pointers) and had four assists in 28 minutes. The former University of Texas star fared much better than starting guard Larry Hughes, who is bothered by a foot injury and was limited to two points on 1-of-5 shooting. Despite the aforementioned statistics, Cleveland coach Mike Brown doesn't plan to put Gibson into the starting lineup in Game 2 on Sunday.

"He'll be out on the floor for us," Brown said of Gibson. "It's one game and we're going to go back and take a look at the tape and we'll make some adjustments, and I'm sure they'll make some adjustments. But one of them won't be a lineup change."
