Lawyers for both sides in the KeyArena lease dispute made their schedule requests to U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Pechman on Wednesday, with the Sonics' ownership group pursuing an opening trial date of March 24 and the city of Seattle requesting a longer discovery process that would conclude with a trial beginning Oct. 27.

The Seattle-based judge will now review the arguments and set a trial schedule based on her own recommendation. It was estimated the nonjury trial would take eight days.
