The New Orleans Hornets rallied back to defeat the San Antonio Spurs, 101-82, in Game One of their semifinal series on Saturday night.
Chris Paul posted 17 points and 13 assists and David West tallied 30 points and 9 rebounds for the Hornets, who shot 50% from the field and outrebounded San Antonio by sixteen.
The Hornets trailed by four at halftime, but used a 56-33 scoring advantage in the third and fourth quarters to notch a Game One victory.
Tony Parker had 23 points and 5 assists in defeat for the Spurs, while Manu Ginobili added 19 points, 7 dimes and 6 rebounds off the bench.
The Spurs made just 40% of their shots and turned the ball over six more times than the Hornets.
Tim Duncan had just 5 points, on 1-for-9 shooting, and grabbed only 3 rebounds in 37 minutes of play.
The game was delayed nearly twenty minutes at the start of the second period because of some end of quarter entertainment that went wrong.
It took several possessions for the teams to get back in the groove of the game.
Game Two will be in New Orleans on Monday night.
