Sources told Stephen A. Smith that Knicks' team President Donnie Walsh has offered Mike D'Antoni a four-year contract worth $24 million.
But apparently the Bulls also have D'Antoni at the top of their coaching wish list. D'Antoni held advanced discussions during a conference call with Bulls' officials late Friday.
Sources said these talks with the Bulls are similar to Thursday's talks with the Knicks during which the D'Antoni camp learned the contract terms that the Knicks could offer.
The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Bulls' chairman Jerry Reinsdorf planned to meet face-to-face with D'Antoni over the weekend.
D'Antoni's desire to fill the Bulls' coaching vacancy began to surface even before the Suns gave him permission to listen to other offers. Sources maintain that D'Antoni is determined to wind up in Chicago and that Bulls' GM John Paxson is excited about the potential of duplicating the successful run-and-gun offense that D'Antoni was able to create in Phoenix.
