The Cleveland Cavaliers downed the Boston Celtics, 74-69, on Friday night to force a Game Seven on Sunday afternoon.
The Cavaliers outscored the Celtics 25-18 in the second quarter to grab control of the game. Boston made runs at the end of the third and midway through the fourth period, but Cleveland held on to extend the series.
LeBron James had 32 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists in the win for the Cavaliers, who shot just 32% from the field but outrebounded the Celtics by eight.
James was only 9-for-23, but went 13-for-15 from the foul line. Cleveland attempted twelve more free throws and made one more three-pointer.
Delonte West tallied 10 points and Zydrunas Ilguaskas posted 7 points and 10 rebounds for Cleveland, who forced seventeen Boston turnovers inside the friendly confines of Quicken Loans Arena.
The first six games of the series have all been won by the home team, with Cleveland's win improving the hosting team's record to 21-1 in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 25 points and 8 rebounds, while Paul Pierce added 16 points and 5 boards in the loss.
Pierce was just 5-for-15 from the floor and Ray Allen shot 3-for-8, giving him a disappointing 9 points.
Boston still has not won a playoff game on the road this season, falling to 0-6 with the loss on Friday night. No one in NBA history has ever won the championship without winning at least one game away from home.
Game Seven will be on Sunday afternoon in Boston, the second decisive game the Celtics have hosted in the last two weeks.
