Magic General Manager Otis Smith truly believes that his team should still be playing, according to The Orlando Sentinel.
His contract was recently extended an additional three years.
"I really believe we should still be playing now. It's disappointing that we're not," Smith said. "It's just not good enough if you don't win it all. That's the only thing we're here for."
Smith created the cap room to sign Rashard Lewis and convinced Dwight Howard to sign a contract extension, putting Orlando in contention over the next decade.
"I'm proud of some things, but there have been a lot of lows, too," he said. "There are a lot of things you're kicking yourself for, things you did or didn't do. It's never good enough if you don't win a championship."
