Jermaine O'Neal faced the Raptors for the first time as a member of the Heat on Friday night, and looked back on his brief tenure with the team.

"It's unfortunate things didn't work out. I've got a lot of love for the organization, I've got a lot of love for the city and just apologies to the people who had high hopes coming into the season that we could do something," O'Neal said.

O'Neal spent less than a season with the Raptors after a midsummer trade from the Pacers.

"I think it was more of a business move. Obviously when you put yourself in a position, wins and losses, and it doesn't pan out as well as you wanted to pan out, you try to make a decision on what's best for you in the long run," O'Neal said of the deal. "I think Bryan (Colangelo, the GM) had a vision on where he wanted to go as far as free agency this summer and also as far as signing CB back and it made more sense.

"I'm guessing that's what the plan was through conversations, but who knows? Things just didn't really happen the way we wanted them to happen and for whatever reason, it didn't work."
