Wizards forward Caron Butler plans to work hard to further his game this offseason, and believes that the team needs to add someone that can contribute right away.

"I know, personally, I will be in the best shape of my life, the best condition of my life," Butler said of how he'll put Washington's horrific season behind him.

"Physically, mentally, I will be better than ever. I will have the best year of my career next year. I'm putting that on paper. I will have the best year of my career, on the court and off the court. I will be seriously ready."

The Wizards have a strong chance to land the top pick in June's NBA Draft, with the second worst record in the league behind the Kings. However, Caron Butler hinted that he'd like to see Washington deal the pick if they can't land an impact player.

"If it's not Blake Griffin or somebody that can make an immediate impact, then I would prefer having a veteran come in to help us," Butler said. "The time is now."
