LeBron James was pleasantly surprised by how the Cavaliers played in Game 1 against the Hawks on Tuesday night, considering they had nine days off since sweeping the Pistons.

"It was unbelievable how sharp we were," James said. "We just came out and carried it over from the Detroit series."

Cleveland won 99-72, holding Atlanta to just 28 points in the second half.

"Our guys really locked in and focused going into the second half because we knew that is where the game would be decided," coach Mike Brown said. "I could hear them chattering that they needed to get stops. When the fourth quarter came, they put their foot down."
