Alan Hahn of Newsday broke the news that LeBron James will make his announcement on Thursday from Greenwich, Connecticut.
The media attention surrounding James' free-agency saga then took a new twist when Frank Isola of the New York Daily News claimed that a Knicks' source informed him that the event could be held at Allan Houston's home in Greenwich. Houston is a member of New York's front office.
Isola then backed off that statement with his next Tweet, in which he wrote, "Houston's mansion is big enough to stage event but now there is word it could be at Boys n Girls Club in Greenwich."
Isola's Tweet regarding James being at Houston's home for the announcement was an attempted practical joke.
