The Magic lost to the 76ers 97-89 on Saturday night in part because of their short-handed roster.

Orlando made a pair of blockbuster trades just hours before the game, leaving them with just eight players against Philadelphia.

"Make every excuse in the world," coach Stan Van Gundy said. "That's five straight games where we've done nothing to defend in the second half. So whatever the excuses are. I'm running out of them. I don't believe in any of them. Go out and guard somebody."

The Magic played with just seven players in the second half after guard Jason Williams injured his foot.

"It was tough. This was kind of like the first time something like that happened on my team," Orlando's Jameer Nelson said. "I just had to approach the game the same way."
