Landry Fields is averaging just two points and 1.7 rebounds in 18.7 minutes through the first three games of the Knicks-Celtics series. He was one-fourth of a Knicks starting five that scored just 44 points in a 113-96 loss to Boston on Friday night.

Fields also struggled to contain Ray Allen in Game 3.

“He’s struggling, obviously,” Mike D’Antoni said on Saturday. “He’s trying too hard and that happens with a rookie. We’re going to stick with him; he’s going to get through it.”

D’Antoni said he spoke with Fields recently, telling the rookie to keep things simple.

“Just calm down, pick your spots don’t be over-aggressive,” the coach said.
