Kawhi Leonard is expected to play for the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Leonard sat out Game 6 following his ankle injury in Game 5. The Spurs could have played Leonard if Game 6 was an elimination game for them but they wanted him healthy either for a Game 7 against the Rockets or Game 1 of the next series against the Warriors.

Leonard received treatment on his ankle throughout the day Thursday and spent the game in the Spurs' locker room and not on the bench.

Gregg Popovich said it was not Leonard's decision to sit in Game 6.
