Denver Nuggets guard Austin Rivers has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. Rivers is expected to miss several games.

This is the latest blow to Denver's depth. The Nuggets have been without Jamal Murray all season, as he recovers from a torn ACL. Michael Porter Jr. was recently announced to be having back surgery. That's expected to sideline the young forward for the remainder of the season.

Wing P.J. Dozier recently tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

In addition to the long-term absences, reigning MVP Nikola Jokic, and starting wing Will Barton, have also missed multiple games this season due to injuries.

Rivers has averaged 3.9 points per game for the Nuggets this season. He provided valuable depth to Denver as a late-season signing just before the 2021 playoffs.
