New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose has been out since mid-December, but his return seems to be getting close. While speaking with the media for the first time since he was shut down to have ankle surgery, Rose said he'd make his return very soon after next month's All-Star break.

The Knicks said Rose would miss approximately eight weeks after surgery. Is Rose returns in mid-February, his timeline will match that almost exactly.

Rose has averaged 12 points per game in the first year of a three-year, $43.5 million contract with New York. He's played mostly off the bench for the Knicks, but was inserted into the starting lineup shortly before getting injured.
