The Memphis Grizzlies ruled Ja Morant out for the year with an ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his left elbow, the team announced on Tuesday.

Morant initially suffered the injury on January 21.

Morant appeared in 20 games this season.

Morant, who had a consultation on how to deal with discomfort in his elbow, was recommended that he receive a platelet-rich plasma injection.

The 26-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of next season.
