The Connecticut Sun are being sold to the Fertitta family and will relocate to Houston, sources told Alexa Philippou of ESPN.

The Fertitta family are purchasing the team for $300 million, a record-breaking figure for a WNBA side.

That figure also includes a relocation fee.

The Sun will play one more season in Uncasville, Connecticut before moving to Houston in 2027.

The franchise is also expected to bring back the Comets' name. The Comets were part of the WNBA from 1997 to 2008, and won four straight titles between 1997 and 2000.

An official announcement is expected on Monday.
