Cooper Flagg suffered a sprained ankle in the Dallas Mavericks' 149-128 win over the Chicago Bulls to close out the season.
Flagg was hurt in the second quarter and was ruled out shortly after.
Flagg averaged 21.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 70 games during his rookie year. Flagg also lead the Mavs in all of those categories.
Mavs governor Patrick Dumont expressed confidence in Flagg leading the franchise earlier in the day.
"Having a generational talent like Cooper Flagg should give everyone confidence, our fans, our team, that we're going to get back to the playoffs and that we're going to try to compete for championships as soon as we can," Dumont told the Dallas Morning News.
