Jun 30, 2019 11:37 PM

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to a four-year, $117 million sign-and-trade deal with the Brooklyn Nets for D'Angelo Russell.

The Warriors will also acquire Trevon Graham and Shabazz Napier.

Golden State must unload salary elsewhere to make this deal feasible as they are up against the hard cap, which could mean also trading Andre Iguodala.

Kyrie Irving, LeBron James Had 'Cordial, Casual' Conversation But Talks Never Elevated

Jun 30, 2019 8:55 PM

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving spoke with each other since the end of their respective seasons, sources tell Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

The conversation was described by sources as "cordial and casual (but) never elevated to the level of LeBron trying to convince Kyrie to re-join him on the Lakers."

It seemed apparent that Irving had his sights set on the Brooklyn Nets.

The phone call Irving made to James opened the door on the possibility of the two of them reuniting. But taking a meeting wit hthe Lakers and possibly James would have had him go back on what led him to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017.

Knicks, James Dolan Had Concerns Over Giving Kevin Durant Max Contract

Jul 1, 2019 9:32 AM

The New York Knicks and Jim Dolan were not prepared to offer Kevin Durant a full max contract due to concerns over his Achilles recovery.

The front office of the Knicks traveled to Los Angeles for the start of free agency.

Durant is expected to miss the entire 19-20 season.

Durant agreed to sign with the Brooklyn Nets on a four-year, $164 million deal.

Adrian Wojnarowski clarified on the morning after the start of free agency that Durant never seriously considered the Knicks. The front office of the Knicks was prepared to sell Dolan harder on offering Durant the full max if they were under consideration. Wojnarowski said Dolan's position on the matter ultimately didn't compromise the Knicks' ability to sign Durant.
