The Minnesota Timberwolves decided to walk away from their talks with the New York Knicks on Ricky Rubio for Derrick Rose.

The Wolves have shopped Rubio throughout the season as they consider Kris Dunn the future at point guard.

According to Ian Begley, the Knicks were seeing a second asset such as a pick or rotation player in addition to Rubio.

The New York Knicks continue to target Ricky Rubio in trade talks.

Rubio has been shopped by the Minnesota Timberwolves since Tom Thibodeau was hired last offseason.

The Knicks are unlikely to re-sign Derrick Rose in the offseason and have been taking trade offers for him.

According to Marc Stein, the Knicks are seeking an additional piece from the Wolves to complete the Rose for Rubio trade. Stein updated at 12:37 PM that the two sides remain engaged on talks.

At 2:40 PM, Shams Charania reported talks have stalled between the Knicks and Wolves on Rose.

The Washington Wizards have interest in trading for Shabazz Muhammad of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Muhammad will be a restricted free agent this offseason.

The Wizards appear willing to part with a first round pick in this year's draft to add depth to their roster. 

After a slow start to the season under Scott Brooks, the Wizards are among the leaders in the Eastern Conference.

The Minnesota Timberwolves continue to strongly pursue a trade for Derrick Rose.

Tom Thibodeau coached Derrick Rose with the Chicago Bulls. Rose will be a free agent this offseason and could be the veteran bridge point guard the Wolves have sought to pair with Kris Dunn.

“Thibs wants to do this,” says a league source.

Minnesota would like to clear the contract of Ricky Rubio from their books.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached out to the New York Knicks about a trade centered around Ricky Rubio for Derrick Rose.

Rose has an expiring contract and previously played for Tom Thibodeau with the Chicago Bulls.

The Wolves have had interest in trading away Rubio throughout the season as they view Kris Dunn as the future at point guard. Minnesota would like to clear Rubio's contract off their books moving forward.

The Detroit Pistons have revisited talks with the Wolves for Rubio and Reggie Jackson could be dealt to the Knicks as part of a three-way trade.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have expressed mild interest in trading for Tony Snell.

Snell was moved this season by the Chicago Bulls to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Snell previously played for Tom Thibodeau.

Adreian Payne is out indefinitely with a blood condition.

Payne has thrombocytopenia, or low platelet count. The condition can cause bleeding, bruising and slow blood clotting after injury.

Payne is receiving care from team doctors.

Payne is averaging 4.0 points in 12 games this season as he's played sparingly this season for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to sign Lance Stephenson to a 10-day contract.

Stephenson is expected to provide depth and playmaking to a Timberwolves backcourt that lost Zach LaVine for the remainder of the season because of a torn ACL.

Stephenson recently worked out for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Stephenson entered his seventh NBA season in October on a partially guaranteed contract and made the New Orleans Pelicans’ roster out of training camp. He averaged 9.7 points, 4.8 assists and three rebounds in six games, but was released after undergoing groin surgery in November.

Zach LaVine has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee.

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced that an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) taken on Saturday at Mayo Clinic by Team Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Diane Dahm revealed the injury. LaVine, who will have surgery at a to-be-determined date, will miss the remainder of the season.

The injury occurred during last night’s 116-108 loss to the Detroit Pistons.

In 47 games this season, LaVine averaged 18.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 37.2 minutes per game. In his third NBA season, LaVine holds career averages of 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 206 games.
