The NBA has postponed Wednesday's game between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder as the Rockets don't have the mandatory eight players to begin a game.

The Rockets had three positive/inconclusive COVID-19 tests while four other players are quarantined due to contact tracing. James Harden is also out due to a health and safety protocols violation. Another player is out due to injury.

John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins and Martin were among Rockets players gathered on Tuesday evening at a player's apartment getting haircuts.

John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins and possibly more members of the Houston Rockets are expected to miss Wednesday's regular season opener due to COVID-19 contract tracing. 

The Rockets will host the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It was previously reported by ESPN that James Harden is expected to miss the game as the NBA investigates his attendance at a holiday party. A source tells Sam Amick that the contact tracing is not tied to Harden with the Rockets reporting that it is connected to Kenyon Martin Jr.

Ben McLemore is in self-isolation and out for the game after testing positive for COVID-19 several days ago. McLemore isn't the player who initiated contact tracing on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will release Frank Jackson.

Jackson signed a free agent contract with the Thunder this month.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived TJ Leaf and Admiral Schofield. 

Leaf, who was acquired from the Pacers, appeared in two preseason games.

Schofield, acquired from the Wizards, also played in two preseason games. 

The Los Angeles Lakers have interest in signing Trevor Ariza if he is bought out by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Ariza was traded multiple times this offseason as salary ballast. Currently, Ariza is expected to begin the season on Oklahoma City's roster.

Ariza opted out of the NBA's restart in the summer due to a family issue.

The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed forward Aleksej Pokuševski.

Pokuševski (7-0, 195) averaged 10.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals in 22.6 minutes in 11 games with Olympiacos B in the Greek Second Division, HEBA A2 during the 2019-20 season as the team went 17-4 and earned a second-place finish in A2. At the 2019 U18 European Championships, the Serbian native averaged 10.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.7 steals and led with event with 4.0 blocks per game.

Originally selected with the 17th overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft, Pokuševski’s draft rights were acquired from Minnesota via a three-team trade on Nov. 20.

Trevor Ariza has not reported to Oklahoma City Thunder training camp and will be away from the team "indefinitely."

"The Thunder was made aware he would not be available when they acquired him, and remain supportive of Ariza's indefinite absence given the circumstance," the team told The Oklahoman on Sunday.

Ariza opted out of last season's bubble due to a one-month visitation window with his son, and is currently involved in a child custody case.

Ariza is in the final year of his $12.8 million deal. 

The Oklahoma City Thunder signed Frank Jackson.

Jackson averaged 7.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 120 games with the Pelicans.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 

Chasson Randle has reached an agreement with the Oklahoma City Thunder, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

The 27-year-old Randle played three games for the Warriors last season.
