Magic Exploring Trade Market For Wendell Carter Jr, Markelle Fultz

Jan 14, 2024 5:33 PM

The Orlando Magic have been one of the league's surprises of the first half of the season. Orlando is firmly in the playoff picture and may be looking to bolster a run to the postseason.

That standing has Orlando exploring the trade market for Wendell Carter Jr. and Markelle Fultz.

Carter is making just over $13 million this season and has two years and $22.8 million remaining on his deal through 2025-26. The center has struggled with injuries for each of the last two seasons, missing 25 games last year and 26 games already this season.

Fultz is making $17 million in the final season of his contract. He's continued to be injury-prone while with Orlando and has appeared in only eight games this season.

Magic To Retire Shaquille O'Neal No.32 Jersey

Jan 5, 2024 1:23 AM

The Orlando Magic are set to retire Shaquille O'Neal's No. 32 jersey in a ceremony on February 13, the team announced.

O'Neal will be the first Magic player to have his jersey retired by the franchise.

The Magic drafted O'Neal with the No.1 pick in the 1992 NBA draft. O'Neal played four seasons with the team before signing with the Lakers.

"When someone asks who was the first player to officially put the Orlando Magic on the map, the answer is simple -- Shaquille O'Neal. He took this franchise to new heights, both on and off the court, and his legacy is still felt within our organization today," said Magic CEO Alex Martins.
