Marbury's infection a mystery

Oct 28, 2002 9:09 AM

Bob Young of the Arizona Republic reports that Stephon Marbury expects to return to practice today after being treated for a mysterious infection in his right arm. The infection was drained yesterday.

Marbury described it as a staph infection, and trainer Aaron Nelson said it could have resulted from an ingrown hair, a scratch that became infected, an insect bite or another source. "We really don't know what caused it," Nelson said.

Marbury is healthy enough to play in the Sun?s opener at Seattle, but he won?t make the trip because of a suspension stemming from an offseason DUI arrest.
