Mike James Released By Suns

Dec 23, 2017 8:30 AM

Mike James has been released by the Phoenix Suns just a few weeks after they converted his two-way deal into a standard NBA contract.

James fell out of the Suns' rotation over the past four games.

“Mike established himself as an NBA player here and our partnership proved to be beneficial,” Suns general manager Ryan McDonough told Yahoo Sports. “Mike had a handful of 20-point games and helped us win a few games. We wish Mike the best as he works to find another home.”

James made his debut in the NBA this season after spending his previous pro seasons overseas.

Devin Booker was carried off the floor with a strained left adductor in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's loss.

Booker pulled up and appeared to clutch his groin area as he was coming back down the court.

"I've seen guys get carried off and play the next day and guys not," Jay Triano said. "I'll let the doctors figure out the severity of it. I'm sure they'll have to do an MRI or something to see and make sure we take care of him the right way."

Booker had scored 46 points in Monday's game.
