The Detroit Pistons has recalled forward Tony Mitchell from the team’s NBA Development League (D-League) affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive, after a one-game assignment.
Mitchell recorded 12 points (5-9 FG), 12 rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes vs. the Los Angeles D-Fenders (11/26). Drafted 37th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, he appeared in 21 games for the Pistons last season averaging 1.0 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. Mitchell also had two D-League assignments last season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and averaged 7.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 10 games.

The Sacramento Kings have reassigned rookie forward Eric Moreland to the Reno BigHorns of the D-League.
The 6-10, 218-pound forward from Oregon State is averaging 13.3 points (.581 FG%), 10.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in three games (all starts) for the Reno Bighorns.
Moreland saw action for the first time in the regular season in the Kings’ 102-89 loss to the Houston Rockets on Nov. 26.
The Iowa Energy acquired Jordan Hamilton on Wednesday, the team announced.
Hamilton was a first round pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and has played for the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz.

The Memphis Grizzlies re-assigned rookie guard Jordan Adams to the NBA Development League’s Iowa Energy, the Grizzlies’ exclusive D-League affiliate.
During his first assignment in Iowa, Adams (6-5, 209) totaled 20 points, seven rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes in an exhibition on Nov. 8 vs. Sioux Falls, which was played in Memphis at FedExForum. He was recalled from Iowa on Nov. 10. The 20-year-old is averaging 1.5 points, 1.3 assists and 0.75 steals in 10.1 minutes in four games for the Grizzlies this season.
Damien Wilkins of the Iowa Energy was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Friday, Nov.14, through Sunday, Nov. 23.
A 6-6, 225-pound guard/forward out of Georgia, Wilkins averaged 28.3 points (fourth in the league) on .561 shooting (32-for-57), 10.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists to lead Iowa to a 3-0 start to the season. On Nov. 14, he recorded a double-double, scoring 32 points and snatching 13 rebounds, to go along with nine assists, one block and one steal in a 152-144 victory over the Reno Bighorns. On Nov. 15, he tallied 30 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in a 102-100 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors. Wilkins is in his first season in the NBA D-League and was selected by Iowa in the 2014 NBA Development League Draft with the 16th overall pick.
The Philadelphia 76ers have recalled forward JaKarr Sampson from the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League.
Sampson has appeared in nine games with two starts for the Sixers this season. He appeared in two games for the Sevens, averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have recalled center Alex Kirk from the Canton Charge, the Cavaliers exclusively owned and operated NBA Development League team.
Kirk has played in three games (all starts) for the Charge this season with averages of 23.7 points on .483 shooting, 9.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 39.3 minutes per game. He has appeared in two games for the Cavs this season.
The San Antonio Spurs have assigned forward Kyle Anderson to the Austin Spurs of the NBA Development League.
This will mark Anderson’s first assignment to Austin this season.
The former UCLA Bruin has appeared in six games this season for San Antonio, averaging 1.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per contest.
The Miami Heat are signing Hassan Whiteside out of the NBA D-League.
Whiteside has had a strong start for the Iowa Energy and was briefly signed by the Memphis Grizzlies.
