Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reports: The Orlando Magic had to deal with something Sunday night that they don't want to deal with again anytime soon: Basketball without Tracy McGrady.

McGrady strained his back in the first half and missed most of the Magic's 101-81 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at the Ice Palace.

The injury was not believed to be serious. McGrady attempted to return to the game in the second quarter, but he could not continue and spent the second half in the trainer's room.

"I don't know what I did. It's a back spasm, I guess. It's nothing major," McGrady said. "I wanted to go back in . . . but the way I was playing, I couldn't bend down in a defensive stance. I couldn't play through it."
