George Diaz of the Orlando Sentinel reports: A season with high expectations will begin on a medical downer:
Despite his optimistic spin, Orlando Magic guard Mike Miller will likely miss four to five weeks with a chip fracture of his fifth metatarsal on his right foot.
"Mike told me he'll be back next week," Magic Coach Doc Rivers said. "That's because he's 21. We go from there. I told the guys you don't go anywhere without going through something, and that's part of it."
Miller stepped on Cuttino Mobley's foot as the two inadvertently tangled with 1:50 left in the third quarter.
"I was coming across the lane and stopped," Miller said.
"Mobley kept running through, which you're supposed to do, He came over my leg and I twisted over the top of his foot."
"I want to be back the first game. We'll see. I'm going to do 24 hours of treatment every day and see what happens."
