While Ira Winderman reports that Rod Strickland has agreed to terms with the Heat (see below), Peter Vecsey is reporting that nothing is set in stone yet.
Vecsey reports that Strickland has identical $1 million offers from both Miami and Philadelphia. Vecsey's article all but says that Strickland will wind up with the Sixers. Stay tuned.
Vecsey also reports that Memphis would have loved to bring back Penny Hardaway and show him off to the hometown folks. The remainder of Hardaway's contract plus the Suns' unwillingness to take back Bryan Reeves killed the deal.
Apparently the Suns are looking to shave a bit more salary in an attempt to dodge the Luxury Tax. Among those sitting on the ejection seat: Rodney Rogers, Johnny Newman and Soumaila Samake. Note to Vecsey: Phoenix waived Johnny Newman last month.
Raptors are reportedly trying to find a 2-for-1 deal. Whether Keon Clark is truly available is up for debate.
Much more news in this piece.
