Clarence Weatherspoon didn't fit into the Cavaliers' plans during the off-season, and he was forced to make a choice. He was reminded about that choice last night. He's overwhelmed with his decision.
"The Cavs decided in the summer that they were going on a different route," said Weatherspoon, who signed with the Knicks during the off-season. "They're in a rebuilding process, and I looked for a veteran team. I made a wise decision. I feel sorry for experienced guys like Lamond Murray, Wesley Person and Bimbo Coles. I know it's tough on them."
It was even tougher for the Cavs to score again last night as they finished with a season low in points and fell, 82-64, to the Knicks before a crowd of 19,763 at Madison Square Garden.
It was the second-fewest points scored by the Cavs in franchise history. (They scored 59 in a loss at San Antonio in 1997.) Last night's defeat extended the Cavs' losing streak to three.
Andre Miller led all scorers with 15 points. Murray had 12. Latrell Sprewell and Allan Houston led the Knicks with 14 points each.
