The Spurs and Nets are hungry for the hoop, but Texas and New Jersey public officials are just plain hungry.

Food ? everything from peaches and tomatoes to pan dulce and cannoli ? is the object of politicians' NBA championship series wagers.

For example, if the Spurs lose, Gov. Rick Perry, who's opposed to expanding gambling in Texas, said he'd supply New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey with an authentic Tex-Mex dinner from local favorite Mi Tierra restaurant and a bushel of Hill Country peaches.

If the Spurs win, Perry will dine on tomato pie, saltwater taffy, a pork roll and tomatoes from the Garden State.
