Don Chaney isn't exactly shedding a tear for his geographical rivals. Or for nemesis Byron Scott.

Reacting to The Post's report that Jason Kidd requested Scott be fired as a prerequisite for his return to the Nets, Chaney said, "This is my 36th year in the league. I've heard everything. It doesn't surprise me. I've been in the NBA long enough to where anything can happen."

Chaney added, "That's something they have to deal with. Coaches get fired, coaches get hired. Players get traded. That's the nature of the game. I just try to keep my job."
